The Editor Letters to the Editor International Herald Tribune
850 Third Ave., New York, N.Y. 10022

Dear Mr. Editor,

In your map on confronting the Terrorist Threat (Monday, September 17, 2001) you showed countries with Qaeda cells and countries where terrorists are possible targets.

I was flabbergasted to find my country, Myanmar, highlighted among the countries where Qaeda cells exist. I would like to point out that Myanmar is totally against terrorism in any form and would never allow terrorists to exist on its soil. There is no way that Qaeda cells could operate from within the country.

I hope the mistake was due to misplaced color fill, as I can`t imagine any other reason for such a glaring error.

Sincerely,

Sd.
